Suggestions for Accommodations on the Island of Maui |
|
|
Click on Getting Away Hotel Recommendations for the Island of Maui for an alpha list by city of accommodations suggestions for that city. If you are unable to find the city in which you seek accommodations, click on Search By City For Hotels And Other Accommodations in Hawaii. There is never a booking charge when you book on any hotel listed on the Search By City For Hotels And Other Accommodations in Hawaii link. However, each individual hotel or hotel group may have cancellation charges. Be sure to check the cancellation policy for the hotel before you book. Both of these sites will keep you on the Getting Away travel site where you can always expect the best prices and quality services. If you choose to use one of the many Internet hotel search engines, or other companies such as: Expedia, Hotwire, Hotels.com, HotelClub, HotelPronto, Travelocity, Priceline, Orbitz and more; you can find them on the Getting Away Accommodations Information Pages. However, remember that when you leave Getting Away and book with one of the other companies, you are bound by their policies for charges such as reservation and cancellation charges. Your best bet - stay with Getting Away - your Internet travel company with a personal touch. Jim. |

Hana
The restoration was more than simply
cosmetic. No longer a traditional hotel building, the
Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa now comprises some
seventy-odd cottage and bungalow rooms, the Bay Cottages
clustered around the old central building, with views of
the bay or the gardens, and the Sea Ranch Cottages
perched on the bluff overlooking the sea directly, with
the dramatic mountain vista as a backdrop. There’s no
shortage of space within the airy open-plan cottages,
and no shortage of modern luxuries either, from feather
beds and soaking tubs to wet bars and complimentary
minibars. All rooms come with private lanais from which
to take in the views, and some of these come with
private hot tubs. Add to this an infinity pool, an
expansive fitness and spa center, a spectacular white
sand beach and an array of outdoor activities from
tennis and golf to jeep tours and sea kayaking, and
you’ve got the makings of quite a self-contained holiday
destination. The restaurants feature culinary talent
transplanted from some of the better kitchens in the
continental U.S., and while the new Hotel Hana-Maui and
Honua Spa is television-free, they’ve introduced room
service — so if it’s privacy you’re after, there’s no
need to leave your cottage at all.
Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa -
Like more than a few classic
Hawaiian resorts, the Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa went
through a rough patch at the close of the last century.
Those days are past, though — fresh off a
ten-million-dollar renovation, the Hotel Hana-Maui is
back in fighting form, again a luxurious and exclusive
retreat, in a location of stunning natural beauty on
Maui’s remote eastern shore.

| Kapalua Bay - A Renaissance Resort - A
luxury 191-room, 5-suite, and 15 Villa-Suite centerpiece resort hotel,
fronting the world-famous Kapalua Bay. Low-rise deluxe accommodations
featuring oversized rooms and lanais, most overlooking the ocean and islands
of Lanai and Molokai. Two distinctive restaurants and lounges, all offering
unique menu selections and unparalleled views. Exceptional guest service and
amenities including concierge, 24-hour room service, business services, and
in-house laundry and dry cleaning. The Beach Activity Center offers
everything from snorkeling and scuba lessons to catamaran sails. Home to
three 18-hole courses, Kapalua has taken its place as "the golf mecca of the
Pacific' and 'one of "The World's Best Places to Stay" according to Conde
Nast Traveler's 2005 readers' survey. It also recently received the honor of
being named to Conde Nast Traveler's 2005 "500 Greatest Hotels in the
World". Click on

Ritz-Carlton -
This opulent monolith
of a hotel is remote, tucked away on Maui’s northwest
coast, and perhaps uncharacteristically it’s set back
from the beach, high on a forested hillside, with
commanding views of Honolua Bay and the distant and
picturesque island of Molokai more than making up for
any slight bother in getting to one of the three
beaches.
Also uncharacteristic for Ritz-Carlton is the Kapalua’s architectural style — a case of “when in Hawai’i,” one imagines. Rather than the European country manor style that’s grown so familiar, this hotel’s look is a contemporary one, subtly Polynesian, tastefully elegant. Most of the guest rooms have at least partial ocean views, and all come with the full complement of luxury amenities, including private lanais, ornate marble bathrooms and high-speed internet access. The Club level goes one step further, offering dedicated 24-hour concierge service and feather beds with Frette linens. This isn’t the sort of hotel from which you’ll be able to dash off to town — the location makes it something of a self-contained destination, and naturally the facilities are quite up to the task. The three golf courses are a major draw, and non-golfers will enjoy the spa and fitness center, or perhaps the kids’ club. Four restaurants and two bars ensure you’re never at a loss when evening comes — if you’re up for it the Beach House Bar & Grill offers live Hawaiian entertainment most nights, and the Banyan Tree restaurant is among Maui’s finest. |
